Urodzona 27 stycznia 1979 roku w Londynie Rosamund Pike to etatowa "dziewczyna Bonda", nigdy nie starała się zostać aktorką.Jako dziewczynka grała na wiolonczeli. Teatr traktowała raczej jako hobby. Mając 16 lat wstąpiła do National Youth Theater (Państwowego Teatru Młodzieżowego). Jako 18-latka została wybrana do roli Julii w sztuce Szekspira, za którą zebrała wiele pochwał. Wbrew namowom wychowawców, nie poszła do szkoły teatralnej.Wolała studiować literaturę angielską w Wadham College w Oksfordzie. Piękna aktorka ma ambicje teatralne. W czerwcu 2003 roku zagrała w sztuce "Blondynki Hitchcocka" Terry'ego Johnsona, wystawionej w prestiżowym londyńskim Royal Court. Rosamund nieprzypadkowo znalazła się w obsadzie. Podobnie jak ulubione aktorki Hitchcocka: Ingrid Bergman czy Kim Novak uosabia typ lodowatej piękności. Sama lubi Marilyn Monroe. Rola w bondowskiej superprodukcji "Śmierć nadejdzie jutro" sprawiła,że jest dziś rozpoznawana.Przeszkadza jej, że budzi pożądanie u ludzi,których nie zna. Gra na pianinie i wiolonczeli. Swobodnie mówi po francusku i niemiecku.
